Hebel will change its owner
Article Abstract:
Hebel Porobeton (HB) (Chlumcany, Czech Republic), building material producer, will have a new owner. The multinational concern Preussag, which is the firm's current owner, plans to sell HB and its two other firms from the sector and wants to focus on its main business, which is tourism. HB's turnover exceeded CEK 600 mil in 2000, 5% more compared to 1999. The firm expects its results to increase in 2001 compared to 2000. Its turnover rose by 40% for 1Q 2001 compared to 1Q 2000. Its profit was on the level of several dozens of Czech crowns in 2000. HB has about 220 employees. The firm has invested CEK 0.5 bil in its development since 1995 and plans to invest another CEK 100 mil in the modernization of its technology and the extension of its production in 2001. Its capacity should increase by 15%.

Ytong will change its owner
Article Abstract:
Ytong (Hrusovany u Brna, Czech Republic), porous concrete producer, could be acquired by a new owner. Its hitherto majority shareholder Readimix is considering the sale of the firm. In 2000 Ytong saw a turnover of CEK 690 mil. Its net profit increased by about 20% in 2000 compared to 1999. Ytong has 120 employees. The firm has invested CEK 600 mil in its development so far. Ytong expects revival on the building product market in 2001.
