Kablo Vrchlabi will change its owner
Article Abstract:
Kablo Elektro Vrchlabi (KEV) (Vrchlabi, Czech Republic), cable manufacturer, will change its owner. The group around Prvni investicni spolecnost (Czech Republic) will sell its 60% stake in KEV. The reason is the current legislation, which orders to decrease the big volumes of shares in one firm to the legal level of 11%. KEV's new owner should be known in Aug 2001. KEV saw a net profit of CEK 687 mil in 2000, 12% more compared to 1999. CEK 2 mil of the 2000 net profit will be transferred to the firm's social fund and the rest will remain retained. KEV will not pay dividends for 2000. Its 2000 proceeds totalled CEK 1.38 bil, one third more compared to 1999. The proceeds growth was influenced by an increase in sales and high products prices. Exports represented more than 25% of KEV's sales in 2000, 2% less compared to 1999. The firm's products line includes mainly power conductors, heating cables and electro-insulation tubes and tapes. KEV's subsidiary is Kablo Elektro (Velke Mezirici, Czech Republic).
