Employers are forced to hire an increasing number of inexperienced people in a tight labor market. Evaluating an inexperienced person's fitness for the job is difficult because of the absence of a basis for comparison. In these cases, human resource experts say employers should interview for attitudes. According to the US Department of Labor, 87% of all hiring failures are due to the unwillingness of employees to do their job properly, not because of the lack of skills.

Driving growth into the new millennium

Eastman Kodak Co's Bruce Swinsky will give emphasis on marketing, new product development and ins-tore presence to ensure continued success. Swinsky unveiled his plans during the PMA New York/New Jersey Division Meeting. He said the photo industry is in a position to exploit new opportunities in the 21st century because it is experiencing growth at a very rapid rate. Kodak is also moving consumers to premium products and services, Swinsky added.
