How do you like your data: raw, al dente or stewed?
Article Abstract:
A 1984 marketing study on biases in consumer research provided a new approach for eliminating bias through the use of modern information systems. This consistent information provided by this method resulted in the successful launching of Superpanel. In addition, the increasing usage of scanner data confirmed the study's prediction regarding the availability of market information as a by-product of electronic data systems.

Evaluating community preferences
Article Abstract:
The Priority Evaluator research approach was developed by the UK's Social and Community Planning Research for its community planning initiative. The method differs from traditional attitude surveys in that it considers subjects' opinions on trade-off preferences for variables such as traffic noise and travel time to work. This allows researchers to place a weight or value to these variables for improved analysis.
