Hungary: Hard times on the horizon?
Article Abstract:
Almost ten per cent of the AWP market in Hungary consists of first category machines that are operated in gambling halls in large cities. The other ninety percent of the market, second category machines, exists in catering units. Smaller operators in the country are struggling to survive after new gaming taxes on secondary category machines increased by 150 per cent in 2000.

Poland: No friend of the AWP
Article Abstract:
Poland does not operate a large number of amusement with prizes (AWP) machines in contrast to their popularity in surrounding nations. Recent regulations in Poland that prohibited AWP machines from awarding cash prizes furthered their scarcity in the country.
