Improving economic may boost chemicals

Many stock analysts are reevaluating their forecasts for the chemicals industry in light of the strong profit margins being shown by many chemical companies. Despite the boom in the industry, some analysts warn that profit margins may soon decline because of strong pressures from high energy prices. Some of the noteworthy chemical companies which analysts believe will continue to show impressive gains are; Georgia Gulf Corp., Union Carbide, Pennwest Ltd. and Quaker Chemical.

Kemira stake sold for Nordic group
Article Abstract:
Kemira will become part of a new Nordic chemicals group, of which the Finnish state will own 34%. The state will sell part of its current share in Kemira to Dynea (Finland), owned by Industri Kapital (Sweden), which will also add its Sydsvenska Kemi to the new group. Meanwhile, Movere UAB (Lithuania) has been formed as a joint venture of Kemira Agro and Movere (both Finland) to provide agricultural logistics services.
