In marine one battle, Lockheed invades Sikorsky's home turf

Lockheed Martin Corp., in an attempt to build the next-generation Marine One presidential transport helicopter, has signed on 13 subcontractors in Connecticut, which happens to be the home state of Sikorsky Aircraft, the rival firm in the Marine One contest. The Lockheed Martin move comes as Sikorsky was caught up in a controversy over whether it plans to outsource by setting up engineering centers in other states.

Lockheed opposes solicitation for its stock shares
Article Abstract:
The largest defense contractor, the Lockheed Martin Corp. requested its investors owning its stock not to sell it to TRC Capital Corp., of Toronto who wants to acquire a small slice of the company. The defense contractor therefore states that, the company is seeking to buy 2 million shares of Lockheed Martin stock, or 0.44 percent of outstanding shares.
