Industry trends, size ... and the role of distributors
Article Abstract:
This report to the annual meeting of the National Lawn & Garden Distributors Association indicates that, while the past decade has shown a steady increase in sales for the industry, 1982 figures show a decline by around 15%. Lawn and garden distributors should prepare for the 1980's by developing full service programs by implementing multiple marketing programs to serve a very fragmented and localized industry.

Cleanup season, product lines expand
Article Abstract:
Leaf blowers and other fall clean-up equipment have become more attractive to buyers now that many of the machines can be used for several different jobs. Accessory sales of grass bags, gloves, and other equipment can add to the attractiveness of selling these fall clean-up machines.
