Ink-jet innovation reaps rewards
Article Abstract:
Linx Printing Technologies has seen a rise in earnings per share of over 20% every year for the five years to 1999. The company has invested in technology, with some 9% of sales going towards improving and developing printers. A new model called the 6800 is to be launched, which uses some parts also used by the 4800 model, cutting costs. Machines account for 60% of turnover, with consumables, spares and service accounting for the remainder. The company has increased its stake in the market for ink-jet printers and it ranks fourth world wide. Sales in the US have risen strongly, though the company only holds 8% of the US market.
