Insider actions point to higher threat of disinflation than inflation
Article Abstract:
Investors continue to gear themselves against the certainty of inflation. However, insider activity points to growing belief that disinflation is the greater threat. For instance, insiders continue to acquire shares in companies that would benefit from low interest rates, such as banks and electric utilities. Moreover, there is heavy selling of stocks that typically perform well during an economic upswing. Finally, insiders have been restrained in accumulating stocks that have come down to bargain prices.
