Article Abstract:
A brief review of the contents and requirements of mortgage regulation that will start on 31st October 2004 and the regulation of insurance from 14th January 2005 is presented. It is proposed that firms, which agree or disagree with a specific recommendation made by an authorized firm or advice on a variation of a contract will need a license from the institute under the Designated Professional Body (DPB) arrangements.

The transition to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is discussed.
