The issue concerning the nature of work expected from the internal audit profession in terms of their being involved in risk management is debated. It is proposed that itEs managementEs responsibility to manage risk, and not of auditors, thus it is suggested that firms opt for enterprise-wide risk managementE (ERM), which represents, total business risk management.
