Who's buying what: compact 35mm cameras
Article Abstract:
A 1998 study by Eastman Kodak Co for all types of 35 mm lens/shutter cameras has found that 87% of all camera buyers are women, of which 55% have no children under the age of 18 that are living at home. The study also revealed that upper-income consumers were no more likely to buy a new camera than those of modest means. Furthermore, a Photo Marketing Assn study found that older consumers actually represent the largest number of compact camera buyers.

Optimism for SLR sales remains high and autumn 2000 saw the introduction of three feature-laden models.
