Intranet adoption and inter-functional co-ordination
Article Abstract:
A study of 324 marketing managers, in New Zealand, found 38% of their firms had introduced the Intranet. The way the Intranet was used in the individual firms was not examined nor which level of employees had access to the Intranet. The study found the size of the company was not always indicative to whether a firm was using an Intranet. Firms which were experiencing some financial difficulties were the ones more likely to have adopted the Intranet. The Intranet was found to have successfully increased the amount of communication between the functions of 30% of the firms.
