Is precision agriculture sustainable?
Article Abstract:
The viability of precision agriculture (Prec Ag) in sustaining agricultural development remains in question, despite the fact that researchers view it as one of the most significant developments in modern-day farming. The concept of Prec Ag dwells on the use of advanced information technology in evaluating temporal and spatial variations prevalent in managed land areas. Although the method promises to reduce the use of chemicals, farmers may encounter financial difficulties in adopting the approach since it requires high capital investment. The method is also seen as an ineffective alternative to integrating animal and crop production.
