Is your money safe from the Y2K bug?
Article Abstract:
The Financial Services Authority (FSA), together with Action 2000, has reviewed millennium preparations for the sector, and found that some companies were well behind schedule. The clearing system for salaries, wages, direct debits and standing orders BACS, and the cheque clearing system CHAPS have been declared 100% millennium compliant, and banks and building societies are confident about other services. Insurers should be able to cope with the millennium bug, and unit and investment trust managers are progressing towards millennium compliance.
