Joint ventures: theoretical and empirical perspectives
Article Abstract:
Transaction expenses and strategic behavior are compared in examining the motivation to engage in joint business ventures. A joint venture theory is also proposed and developed that sees the ventures as an instrument of organizational learning. Recent joint venture studies are considered in light of the suggested theories. Sectoral distribution data and information on joint venture stability are also given.
