Czech Republic: According to the data of the Association of the Paper and Pulp Industry, every Czech inhabitant consumed 90.1 kg of paper on average in 2000. The quantity is 6.5 kg higher compared to 1999. The total volume of paper and paperboard consumption increased by 7.5% to 926,000 t in 2000 compared to 1999. Paper and paperboard production increased by 5% to 807,000 t in 2000 compared to 1999.

Limart (Brno, Czech Republic), metal plate and sheet processor, expects its proceeds to increase by more than 100% in 2001 compared to 2000. The company's proceeds for the sales of goods totalled CEK 923.5 mil in 2000. In 2000 Limart saw a net profit of CEK 42.2 mil and a gross profit of CEK 64.5 mil. The firm's total revenues amounted to CEK 973 mil in 2000.
