Leaning toward tracks, army weighs FCS vehicle design
Article Abstract:
The Future Combat Systems (FCS) program, an ambitious, multi-year effort to create a lethal, rapidly deployable future force, involves purchase by the US Army of an array of manned and unmanned ground vehicles, unmanned aircraft and sensors tied together with a secure digital network. According to the FCS Unit of Action Manned Systems Integration program office, the service favored the acquiring of tracked vehicles though purchase of wheeled vehicles was not completely ruled out.

Touts itself as top FCS player: BAE to showcase robotic demonstrator at army exhibition
Article Abstract:
BAE Systems plans to roll out the demonstrator version of the Armed Robotic Vehicle (ARV) at the annual Association of the US Army symposium and exhibition held in Washington. BAE also plans to demonstrate a communications link between the ARV and a Bradley Fighting Vehicle that BAE also would display on the show floor.

Manpower issues, war costs cast cloud on FCS funds
Article Abstract:
The US Army has hired an industrial team led by the Boeing Co. and Science Applications International Corp. to develop Future Combat System (FCS), and the unit of action is supposed to be fielded in 2014. Whether the Army can sustain investment in the costly FCS program is yet to be determined.
