Let's get physical
Article Abstract:
Outdoor training courses remain popular despite the risks inherent in such activities. Training companies report a robust demand for motivational training and team-building exercises conducted outside of the office. The allure of these exercises is borne of the fact that they are fun and not based in traditional classroom settings. Instead, they bring people together out of the workplace and in a neutral setting, which leads to more cohesion, productivity and interaction within the group. In a globalized, team-oriented business environment, these courses are indeed relevant. However, they do not come without risks. These courses tend to foster competition and involve macho overtones, which can undermine team-building. Also, people who are only forced to attend these activities will definitely not learn anything from them. Moreover, short, physical courses may not actually create skills that are transferable to the workplace.

A stickly business
Article Abstract:
Doumar Products manufactures a highly original product that promises to make its investors very wealthy. The company was founded in 1995 to market 'Un-du,' which temporarily neutralizes adhesives using heptane. This chemical is widely available and is known for its use in thinning rubber products, but its potential as an adhesive remover was discovered only in 1968 by Twister inventor, Chuck Foley. His son Mark recognized the marketability of the product and established Doumar with the help of his two friends Doug Farley and Warren Garden. They later brought in Gary Reichling as CEO and president. The new company and its products have been gaining public recognition, due largely to Un-du's appearances in the home shopping channel QVC and its participation in a recent international housewares exhibition in Chicago.
