Owner-managed property assets liquidated during the late 1980s provided opportunities for better capitalized buyers. The financial distress costs experienced by highly leveraged firms were especially large for owner-managed firms.

Article Abstract:
A study suggesting that top portfolio managers differ in their opinion about the value of firm as per market valuations is presented. The study also examines the correlation between managers' personal portfolio decisions and changes in his decisions related to corporate capital structures.
