Lockheed profits skyrocket 55.7 percent as sales rise 5.7 percent

Lockheed Martin Corp., the largest defense contractor in the world reported higher sales and a 55.7 percent rise in profits during its second quarter of 2005 attributing it largely to growth in its systems and information technology operations. Lockheed posted second quarter sales of $9.3 billion, a 5.7 percent increase over second quarter sales for 2004 of $8.8 billion.

Raise outlook for 2006: Lockheed Martin's first quarter profit soars 60.2 percent

Lockheed Martin Corp., the world's largest defense contractor has expanded its first quarter profit by 60.2 percent, well out-pacing its revenue growth in the period. Company said that its net earnings for the first quarter rose to $591 million, or $1.34 per diluted share, compared to $389 million, or 83 cents per diluted share for the same period in 2005.

Lockheed Martin, United Defense report improved results

The world's largest defense contractors, Lockheed Martin Corp. and United Defense Industries Inc., have reported higher revenues and good profits in 2004. Lockheed Martin has reported fourth quarter net sales of $10 billion and United Defense has posted 58 percent higher profits for its fourth quarter and record sales for the fiscal year.
