Lockheed Martin/Team US101 naming more suppliers

Lockheed Martin announced that Team US101 has selected more subcontractors and suppliers scattered through every state of New England state except Connecticut for the US101 helicopter, which the Navy could buy as the next generation Marine One presidential transport helicopter. Sikorsky Aircraft Inc. which is in Connecticut is proposing the VH-92 helicopter for the Marine One contract and it will be made in the United States based on a U.S. design while 35% of the US101 would be made abroad and shipped to the U.S. for assembly based on an European design.

Lockheed Martin details LCS speed, antenna, low cost and risk

The Lockheed Martin Corp. proposal for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) has two diesel engines and two gas turbines as well as a propulsion system that can rocket the ship to its maximum speed of 45 knots when fully loaded with mission modules, supplies and crew while the deft maneuverability of the vessel lies in the four underwater jets powering the vessel. Other features include the interchangeable mission modules, a shallow draft, a glass bridge replete with electronic screens and the stability of the vessel at a low-cost.

Lockheed Martin opens another round in Marine One fight

Lockheed Martin has hit out against its rival Silorsky Aircraft Corp. in the Marine One presidential transport helicopter contract. The US101, which is based on the EH101 European military helicopter, has already amassed 56,000 flying hours and flown in combat while the VH-92 aircraft is still in the development stage, which proves that US101 is a proven helicopter.
