Mail receptacle holds worthy SOHO clues
Article Abstract:
One of the most lucrative markets for database marketers is the small-office, home-office (SOHO) segment. To succeed in tapping the SOHO market, however, marketers need to be able to identify and classify which companies are potential prospects. After which, they need to be able to develop direct marketing campaigns which are appealing to their target markets. One of the best sources of answers to such problems is communications between SOHOs, which may take the form of mail, electronic mail or telephone calls.

How to make most of e-mail releases
Article Abstract:
Marketers should learn to maximize the use of e-mail in corporate public relations. They should also learn the differences between traditional print and e-mail press releases. Effective e-mail press releases feature descriptive subject lines, use a standard font, include the URL, are reader-friendly, and are not too formal nor too friendly. Poor e-mail press releases, such as untargeted mass mailings, often end up deleted and unread.

Marketers taking sides on how to use mass e-mail
Article Abstract:
The use of e-mail for direct marketing has fueled industry and Congressional debates on whether receivers should have the right to reject their inclusion in e-mail lists. Proponents argue that marketers who ask permission to add users on their lists can resell the lists without angering receivers. Meanwhile, those in favor of the opt-out model acquire addressees from online directories and newsgroups.
