'Tis the season to be ... maxxed out
Article Abstract:
A June 1996 study showed that 38% of Canadians have outstanding balances on their credit cards while 49% of those with balances say that their debts increased since 1993. About 29% respondents claim to have difficulty paying off their credit cards due to job loss while another 14% cite job relocation. New breed of credit card taking over
Article Abstract:
Financial institutions have started to offer low-rate credit cards in Canada. The lower rates, ranging from 9.23% to 14% as compared to regular rates of 16.5% to 18.9%, are aimed at serving credit card holders who carry substantial monthly balances. The low-rate credit cards are also in keeping with the plans of financial institutions to diversify their products.
