Investing in green and white biotech
Article Abstract:
Research plans should be accelerated to make greater use of plant-based biomass for energy production and as a chemical feedstock as part of a sustainable energy economy. It is suggested that a consistent and stable funding program, implementation of scientific research, removal of barriers, plant productivity and industrial biotech could make major contributions to sustainable economic growth.

How biotech can transform biofuels
Article Abstract:
A research of the economics of bioethanol production to determine the significant phases in conversion of cellulosic biomass into liquid fuel that hamper the cost effectiveness is described. It is suggested that technological advances are needed to enhance the efficiency in the initial conversion of biomass into sugars in the process of biofuel production.
