Development of factor-score-based models to explain and predict maximal box-lifting performance
Article Abstract:
FACTOR PROCEDURE and GENERAL LINEAR MODELS procedure from the statistical analysis system help analyze and generate multiple regression equations for the data obtained from 48 individuals by an incremental lifting machine. The data are categorized into 32 lift parameters. This helps compare the factor-score-based models and models based on data-level variables, on the basis of their explanatory and predictive powers.

Kinematics of running on 'off-road' terrain
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine biomechanical variations to stride characteristics during off-road running in three types of terrain that include surfaced footpath, short grass and long grass. Results show that step length was reduced while both vertical displacement of the hip and knee lift increased as the terrain becomes rougher. It was also observed that velocity decreases as the terrain becomes more difficult.
