Microarray reality checks in the context of a complex disease
Article Abstract:
The microarray-based gene expression data is compared with the non-microarray-based clinical and biological data about the schizophrenias to find whether these two approaches prioritize the same genes. The ways in which progress in the clinical area can be improved by assigning high-quality phenotypic values to each member of a microarray-assigned gene set are discussed.

High-affinity binders selected from designed ankyrin repeat protein libraries
Article Abstract:
The evolution of ankyrin repeat (AR) proteins in vitro for specific, high-affinity target binding is reported. The designed AR proteins are an attractive alternative to antibody libraries because of its favorable biophysical properties.
