Mileta will transfer its profit to the next few years

Mileta (Horice, Czech Republic), handkerchief, bedding and table cloth manufacturer, saw a net profit of CEK 11.3 mil in 2000. The firm will transfer 5% of the profit to its reserve fund. The remaining 95% of the profit will remain retained. The firm will pay neither directors fees nor dividends from the profit. In 1999 Mileta saw a net profit of CEK 3.5 mil and divided it in a similar way. It generated proceeds of CEK 889 mil in 2000, up 9% from 1999. The proceeds growth was ensured by exports, which generated CEK 665 mil in 2000, 13% more compared to 1999. Exports represented 75% of the firm's total sales in 2000. Most of them went to Germany, the UK, Russia, Italy, Japan and the US. Mileta increased mainly its shirting, bedding, table cloth and handkerchief sales. The firm has 1,511 employees. The firm's majority shareholder is the Swiss businessman Elard Maron.

Trinecke Zelezarny doubles profit

Trinecke zelezarny (TZ) (Trinec, Czech Republic), metallurgy firm, expects a profit of CEK 320 mil and proceeds of about CEK 20 bil in 2001. It saw an audited profit of CEK 221 mil in 2000, 91% more compared to 1999. In 1999 the firm generated a net profit of CEK 115.5 mil. Its proceeds totalled CEK 20.9 bil in 2000, 20% more compared to 1999. TZ has a 65% majority stake held by Moravia Steel (Czech Republic).
