Multiple large shareholders and firm value

Article Abstract:

A study based on Finnish listed firms shows a positive relationship between the number of large shareholders and the value of the firm. The effect is more pronounced in case of family-controlled firms suggesting that families are more likely to gain private benefits, which cannot be covered by corporate governance in entirety.
