Article Abstract:

Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, offers simple pleasures, namely an expansive lawn on which one can leisurely picnic while strains of the symphony filter from the Music Shed across the grass. However, the outdoor concert looked like the site of a lawn furniture fair, as members of the audience sat around on what seemed like in an entire inventory of portable furniture that was completely at odds with the idyllic setting.

A description on various concepts that were presented by the competitors for the Best of the category awards is presented. The jury of the members selected Finding Public Space in the Margins, an urban renewal programme in Los Angeles as the winner for its distinct visual wit, simple modularity, and innate interactivity.

Syrup Helsinki was established in 1998 by a group of two people from Finland who are graphic designers. Antti Hinkula and Suviala comprise 'Syrup' who are 2D designers, designing for big companies in Finland.
