NATO contract to EADS, Northrop draws Raytheon protest
Article Abstract:
NATO's move toward signing a $4.8 billion contract for the Alliance Ground Surveillance aircraft by spring 2005 with a multinational consortium called the Transatlantic Industrial Proposed Solution (TIPS) that includes Northrop Grumman Corp. was received with protests by Raytheon Co. This system referred to as Eye in the Sky is designed to be interoperable with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets of NATO member nations while high frequency transmitters for installation in the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) will be procured from BAE systems for the Gakoma Facility phased array antenna system.
