Hanson: power station sale in doubt
Article Abstract:
Hanson aims to set up an integrated power group using Eastern Group, a Hanson subsidiary. This plan could be affected by lack of regulatory approval for bids by National Power and PowerGen. Eastern may not be allowed to purchase generating capacity, as planned, from National Power. National Power was obliged to sell some of its capacity by the regulator, and there has been foreign interest. The financial details of the deal have not been clarified.
