Article Abstract:
L3 Communications, Salt Lake City, Utah, has been awarded an $26,574,983 contract option for production of five Common High Bandwidth Data Link Surface Terminals (CHBDL-ST) and associated engineering support services. The CHBDL-ST provides a shipboard terminal data link for receipt and transmission of signal and imagery intelligence data between combatant aircraft. The contract contains four one-year options which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative contract value to $129,630,856. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is expected to be completed in July 2004. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the world wide web, and one offer was received. L3 Communications developed the CHBDL terminal and is completing the initial production run. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-98-C-3007).

Harris Corp., RF Communications Div., Rochester, N.Y., is being awarded a $17,911,760 firm-fixed-price contract for the delivery of high frequency radio group (HFRG) broadband radio systems. High frequency radio group is used as a back-up to satellite systems, and to communicate with our NATO allies. HFRG provides remotely controlled, rapidly tunable, reliable broadband ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore communications in the 2-30 MHz frequency spectrum. This contract contains options which, if exercised, will bring the cumulative value of this contract to $90,679,182. Work will be performed in Rochester, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by April 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured on the world wide web and one offer was received. The Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-98-C-0031).

Rockwell International Corp., Collins Avionics and Communications Division., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $19,308,716 modification to previously awarded contract N00019-98-C-0020 for the FY 98 production requirements for the AN/ARC-210(V) electronic protection radio system, including the procurement of 311 RT-1794(C)/ARC radios for the U.S. Navy (50) and the U.S. Air Force (261); ancillary equipment; and engineering, technical, and logistic production support services. Work will be performed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (80%), and Coralville, Iowa (20%), and is expected to be completed in September 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.
