AIA chief: Military aircraft to age even more at current buy rate
Article Abstract:
The US Aerospace Industries Association CEO and president, John Douglass believes that the Pentagon needs to buy 160 planes a year just to keep the average stable while the military is merely procuring only half of this required number yearly. This increasing average age is the problem with elderly planes unavoidably costing ever more to maintain with attendant unreliability problems.
