The company has high debt levels but its stocks could offer a speculative investment.

The company has set up an alliance with Daimler-Benz to produce locomotives. ABB reported a record profit for 1995 following restructuring. Emerging economies are increasing demand for railroad construction, power stations and other infrastructure projects. These projects can be lucrative despite tight margins.
