New 'omics tools for fission yeast
Article Abstract:
The new research tools developed for the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe ORFeomes would considerably enhance the scope and pace of research on eukaryote and would also be applicable to studies in animal system. It indicates that genome-wide studies of the localization of fluorescently tagged proteins expressed from exogenous promoters in animal cells are less problematic than is commonly assumed.

ORFeome cloning and global analysis of protein localization in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Article Abstract:
A proteome scale study of the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe is reported based on cloning of the ORFeome. Results reveal that Crm1-dependent dynamic interchange of proteins between the nucleus and the microtubules regulate microtubule organization during the cell cycle in fission yeast.
