Universal merchandising program at Toys "R" Us celebrating 'E.T.'

Universal Studios Consumer Products and Amblin Entertainment have entered into an exclusive three-year global merchandising agreement with Toys "R" Us Inc. The agreement will tie into the 20th anniversary theatrical re- issue in 2002 of Steven Spielberg's 'E.T. The Terrestrial.' Toys "R" Us will create a full range of exclusive E.T. items, across all of its standard categories that include toys, games, puzzles, sporting goods, apparel, accessories, gifts, collectibles, party goods, school supplies and electronics.

Heineken runs 'Shop.Click. And Save' promo

Heineken USA Inc and 800.com have teamed up for a promotion, called 'Shop. Click. And Save,' that offers customers discounts of as much as $100 off purchases of $300 or more on 800.com's Web site. The promotion was offered through Heineken/Amstel Light point-of-purchase displays at over 14,000 shops. It delivers more than 1.2 million decoder cards, each offering discounts that range from $10 off purchases of $50 or more, $25 off purchases of $100 or more and $100 off purchases of $300 or more.
