O&M accused of overbilling White House for anti-drug ads
Article Abstract:
Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide Inc (O&M) is being investigated by US Congress for allegedly overbilling the White House almost $15 million on its anti- drug advertising campaign. John Mica, who heads the investigation as Chairman of the House Criminal Justice, Drug Policy and Human Resources Subcommittee, wants to know why the White House's Office of National Drug Control Policy did not insist on immediate audit of O&M's contract when it was informed by a consultant of some costs at more than 200% of the industry standard.
