Open justice
Article Abstract:
Disciplinary hearings against accountants used to be shrouded in secrecy until October 2006 when the Accountancy Investigation and Discipline Board (AIDB) held its first tribunal, which the members of the general public were also allowed to attend. An account of the first public proceedings in the profession involving PricewaterhouseCoopers' role as auditor to the bus manufacturer, Mayflower is presented.
