Options: the investor's friend
Article Abstract:
Private investors are most likely to find stockbrokers prepared to trade for options, of all types of derivatives. Investors know their maximum loss from the start when they buy options, though selling options involves more of a risk. Holders of options have the right to sell or buy stocks at a set price within a given period. When investors write options, they accept that they have to purchase or deliver stocks in line with the contract, while buyers of options pay an option premium.
