Oshkosh demonstrates new robotic truck

Oshkosh Truck Corporation announced that it has unveiled an unmanned version of its Palletized Load System (PLS) vehicle at the Army Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Component Technology Demonstrations in Yuma, Arizona. The demonstration was a real-world mission scenario as the robotic truck transports cargo between destinations seven miles apart and John Stoddart, executive vice president of Oshkosh said that their objective was to always support the US Army's drive to integrate the most capable and reliable technologies into their fleet.

Officers: slat armor does not contribute to Stryker rollovers
Article Abstract:
The army officers said that the slat armor mounted on Stryker wheeled vehicles used in combat in Iraq has not been responsible for rollovers of the vehicles. The army also said that the slat armor known as 'birdage', mounted around the Strykers, defends the vehicles in combat in Iraq from rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) attack.
