Magnetic resonance tracking of dendritic cells in melanoma patients for monitoring of cellular therapy
Article Abstract:
The delivery and subsequent migration of cells to regional lymph nodes in dendritic cell therapy is essential for effective stimulation of the immune system. A study demonstrates that in vivo magnetic resonance tracking of magnetically labeled cells is feasible in human melanoma patients for detecting very low numbers of dendritic cells in conjunction with detailed anatomical information.

Hot spot MRI emerges from the background
Article Abstract:
An alternative approach to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of fluorine-labeled cells allows specific detection of cells in vivo without endogenous background signal. The method uses perfluoropolyether nanoparticles, which can be detected directly by (super 19)F imaging, offering several advantages over current strategies based on metal-based contrast agents and (super 1)H imaging.

Artificial reporter gene providing MRI contrast based on proton exchange
Article Abstract:
A nonmetallic, biodegradable, lysine rich-protein (LRP) reporter, the prototype of a potential family of genetically engineered reporters was designed for expressing artificial proteins with frequency-selective contrast. It was observed that LRP showed no toxic side effects on metabolic mitochondrial rate, cell damage and cell viability, even after multiple culture passages.
