Performance of Private to Public MBOs: The Role of Venture Capital
Article Abstract:
Research shows that measurement buyouts backed by venture capital do not necessarily perform better than those that are not, using data from the London Stock Exchange from 1964 to 1997. However, between venture capital-backed buyouts, those backed by more prestigious firms appear to perform better than those backed by less prestigious firms as long-term investments.
