Physiological and psychological evaluation for visual display colour readability: a visual evoked potential study and a subjective evaluation study
Article Abstract:
Researchers investigated the optimum display colour for visual display terminals (VDTs). They obtained subjective evaluations using 30 color stimuli in paired comparison tests. The colour stimuli had different dominant wavelengths and purity values. They also conducted an objective investigation using three stimulus purity levels and three types of dominant wavelengths. They concluded that optimal VDT display colours are those with the highest stimulus purity for the dominant wavelength, and that peak latencies of colour-visual evoked potentials adequately indicate the readability of display colours.

Ergonomic research study on aircraft luggage handling
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the physiological effects of freight and baggage handling at a German airport. The cargo handling tasks were classified according to performance conditions and ergonomic evaluations were considered. The studies show that loading tasks often led to strained bottlenecks. Thus, airport officials have developed training programs for airport materials handling to reduce such physiological strains.
