Preparation of dynamic posture and occurrence of low back pain
Article Abstract:
The occurance of low back pain problems encountered in the work environment could be due to sudden changes in the basic dynamic lifting posture. This results in the flexing of the trunk area during unexpected regions that affect the lumbar region. Research shows that when loading is pre-announced, trunk swaying is minimal but increases for unanticipated load applications. Posture positions examined include knee bends, light object lifts and holds, cart pushing and turning postures and stretching positions.

Reproducibility of subjectively graded voluntary isomeric muscle strength in unilateral and simultaneous bilateral exertion
Article Abstract:
The degree of attention and strength required to perform a physical activity appears to influence the descrepencies in a person's predicted exertion and the actual exertion needed to perform the task. This holds true for both unilateral and bilateral performance. Even with the descrepencies in predicted exertion, subjects appeared to have an awareness of the relative magnitude of strength required for a task.
