Ring in the new
Article Abstract:
The internet will have an impact on the way companies relate to suppliers and customers in 2000, and the US e-business market could grow to $1.3 trillion in 2003. Retailers will need to enter e-commerce to prevent loss of market share. Meanwhile, cross-border mergers are becoming more common in Europe, where hostile takeover bids will become more common. Stock exchanges are setting up international links, while foreign investment will become more common, a trend that could affect the prices of some British stocks, such as those of food retailers. Water companies could see stock price rises, while alcohol is likely to be a sector under pressure. Products to tackle obesity are likely to be in demand, while those to tackle acne are likely to see less demand since there are fewer teenagers.
