Reading with magnifiers
Article Abstract:
The design of low vision aids (LVAs) and Low Vision Enhancement Systems should be based on the multi-faceted variables that affect visual perception. The increasing use of visual information has increased the need for effective reading aids for individuals with limited visual abilities. Optical aids such as closed circuit television magnifiers produced slight improvements in reading speed and visual perception. The design of LVAs should be based on variables that affect visual perception while reading, such as eye-hand-neck coordination and reading rate.
