Potential contributions of marketing and government for small food distribution firm development in CIS nations
Article Abstract:
A list of activities that could guide the creation of government policy designed to manage small food distribution firms in the countries composing the Commonwealth of Independent States are discussed. The governments in these countries, which are in the midst of an economic transition, should come up with programs that would specifically develop a conducive marketing environment where customer are made an important part of the system.

Poverty levels and food demand of the poor in Turkey
Article Abstract:
The poverty levels and the food demand of poor and extremely poor households in Turkey are examined by using the Household Consumption Expenditure Survey of the year 1994. The results indicated that food demands of extremely poor households are more responsive to income and prices than are those of poor households in Turkey.
