Predicting endurance limits in arm cranking exercise with a subjectively based method
Article Abstract:
The relationship between time to exhaustion and work performed during power tests confirms the subjective perception of effort as a predictor of individual endurance capacity. A study aims to compare a method for predicting endurance capacity at various workloads based on subjective perception of effort with the technique for computing critical power (CP). Three paraplegic subjects performed the subjective protocol consisting of tests on an arm crank ergometer and another protocol computing the CP of the muscle groups involved in the arm cranking exercise.

Tolerability to prolonged lifting tasks assessed by subjective perception and physiological responses
Article Abstract:
A subjective perception and physiological study of tolerability to prolonged lifting tasks in eight healthy male subjects with increasing and half hourly lifting tests shows that self-assessed exertion is a steady indicator of the subject's fatigue over time. Negative accelerating functions accurately portrayed the individual correlation between iso-perception and duration of the lifting task. Potential of this technique in evaluating complex repetitive physical activities is discussed.

Reliability of a hand gripping endurance test
Article Abstract:
The reliability of an isokinetic hand grip endurance test was investigated. The subjects performed six maximal endurance tests in two different positions with a hand grip toll attached to an isokinetic dynamometer. The proposed isokinetic endurance test was recommended as a useful tool for quantifying work-related functional capacity of the upper limbs and in vocational rehabilitation.
